Installing

Installing

  1. Run the installer

    It installs for the current user, so you do not normally need an administrator password. You can change the install folder if you want to.

  2. Get past SmartScreen

    The build is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" panel. Click More info, then Run anyway.

  3. Finish the setup wizard

    On first launch you choose demo data or an empty store, name the shop and set an administrator PIN.

Verifying the download

Every release is published with a SHA-256 checksum. Compare it against the file you downloaded before installing:

If the value that prints does not match the one published for that release, do not run the installer.

Upgrading from an earlier version

When the till shows that a new version is available, click Update, then Restart and install after any open sale is finished. You can also download the Setup file from this page and install it over the old version. Your database stays in your Windows user profile and is not touched by the installer or by uninstalling. Even so, take a backup from Settings first.
